I remember reading Ray Bradbury’s short story “there will come soft rains”, which was about the post nuclear destruction that wiped out all the people. All that was left of people were silhouettes on a house covered in radioactive dust. The date of the story was set on August 4, 2026, future date, almost impossible to imagine when we read it in Miss Schmalz‘s class in 1969 Our class vowed we would meet up at the high school on that very date if we were all still around. That would’ve been a great date for the reunion, but there is no Greenhills high school left to gather around. I am relieved we’re not just silhouettes in radioactive dust, though
Happy Birthday to one of my favorite artists!
The world has lost a shining light. She had such a great heart. I guess it just got tired.
