There were eight years of education after high school after which I practiced and lived in suburban Chicago, Harbour Island-Bahamas, and south Florida over the following forty-two years. I met the love of my life while in the Bahamas, and we were lucky to become parents to two guys who also luckily turned into fine young men. I could have never predicted that any of this would happen back in 1968. I feel gratitude for the patience and support of my fellow students at GHS who accepted a fourteen year old transferring in as a sophomore from a small town in Tennessee speaking with what was probably an almost unintelligible Southern, mountain drawl. I have retired after practicing dentistry for 43 years and not looking back!!

I remember as a senior getting suspended for two days because several of us took advantage of a substitute teacher’s naïveté to leave the classroom on the first lunch bell fifteen minutes into the class period so we could have a long lunch break. Unfortunately, we were also banned from extra-curricular activities that weekend and had to face Mr Billingsly who was not amused but kind at the same time.
